This administrative workflow converts an eligible admitted applicant into a controlled student record, assigns a Student ID, establishes the student account link, and records orientation status.

CONTROLLED TRANSITION
Admitted Applicant → Active Student
Confirm Enrollment
Verify the student is ready for enrollment activation and the intended start period/pathway is approved.
Create Student Record
Create one controlled student record linked to the admissions record; do not duplicate applicant data unnecessarily.
Assign Student ID
Generate the institutional Student ID under a controlled numbering rule.
Grant Student Role
Link the verified identity subject to the student record and activate only the Student role needed for student services.
Orientation & Courses
Record orientation status and begin authorized course/program assignment.
Separation of duties: the public website does not activate enrollment. This action belongs to authenticated Admissions/Administrator services and should generate an audit event.
Production controls required before activation.
Identity provider, HTTPS API, protected PostgreSQL database, secure document storage, backup/retention, and role-based authorization must be deployed before real enrollment records are processed.
